How to deal with Waswas that has to do with Wudhū’, Salāh, Sexual Thoughts, and Impurities?

Answer:

BismiLlāh

BārakaLlāhu feek, dearest Sister. We’re pleased to have you share this with us by asking.

The best way to deal with waswas related to sexual thoughts is to keep oneself busy with ‘ibādaat, such as fasting, seeking knowledge, making dhikr, and reading the Qur’ān.

Also – my dear sister -, ensure to avoid triggers such as movies, reels, being around indecent ones, and lewd talks.

While waswas related to Salāh can be dealt with by studying the meaning of the verses and the dhikr recited during Salāh. These will foster total concentration and focus before Allāh.

The Prophet (Peace be upon him) advised us to spit to the left three times and say the isti’aadhah when we experience this during Salāh.

Waswas that occurs to one during Salāh or wudū‘, such as uncertainty about the number of raka’ah performed or the number of times one washed a body part, can be dealt with by seeking refuge in Allāh from shaytān, as waswas is one of shaytān’s tricks.

A keynote too is to be frequent in the recitation of Qur’ān. Dedicate a 10mins- or as convenient by you- everyday to recite the Qur’ān. Ensure you’re consistent.

After your morning and evening adhkaar, ensure to recite the mu’aawidhataan (Suuratun Naas, and Falaq) frequently as advised by the best of Mankind (Peace be upon Him).

We ask Allāh to protect you from the whispers of Shaytān. We hope these help, bi idhniLlāh.

Please try these, write back to us and we’ll love to hear a positive feedback from you soon, bi idhniLlāh.

BārakaLlāhu feek, dear one.
