Are you going to the mosque for The Jumu’ah Salah?
Here are some Masjid related Sunnahs of Jumu’ah:
- Leave home early so you can get to the mosque early.
- Walk to the Masjid. If the mosque is far, you can drop from your cab or vehicle at a little safe distance from the mosque and walk the rest.
- Sit close to the Imam if you’re a man. For women, if the mosque is segregated, sit at the front. If the mosque isn’t, the last row is the best.
- Do not push others aside to get a preferred seat. However, if space is limited, make room for others to sit comfortably.
- Do not talk while the Khutbah is on. Not even a whisper or chatting on your phone. Not even saying Salam (Taslim) to someone you know.
- Pay attention to the Khutbah so you can benefit from the reminders.
- Friday is our weekly ‘Eid, no doubt. But do not exaggerate your practices on this day. Do not exceed what the Prophet and his companions did and stick to what’s established in the Sunnah.
Have a beautiful day of Jumu’ah.
